UNCG's Historic $266M Fundraising Campaign

I have had the pleasure of working with UNCG for over a decade in regards to their special event photography and other branding type projects. I had the opportunity to photograph a very special event for the University last month which was the closing campaign event party for the multi-year donation campaign called "Light the Way".

This was a multi-year campaign and was a huge success and the donations were through the roof. Over $266 million dollars were received and allocated to many different departments and projects all over campus to continue to grow and thrive in years to come.

The logistics that went into this event were massive and I was truly impressed with the visuals in each room of the party and to top it off with a customized 300 unit drone show at the end of the evening!

My team delivered awesome service that night which included myself on site as the principal photographer, an assistant photographer and a 2-person step and repeat style photo setup/booth at the entry way to the event to capture the VIP attendees as they arrived. We worked with the campus photo and video team on this event as well and complimented each other perfectly based on our shot lists and game plans.

After the formal ceremony and remarks, the event transitioned to the Bodford Arena for food and drink for about an hour or so. Just past sunset the guests were escorted out to the soccer field to watch a very special drone show which consisted of 300 programmed drones to create a 20min aerial show. The show then revealed the final campaign figure of $266M in the sky for the attendees along with 1000+ students and patrons in the stands.

It was an incredible night indeed and thankful for the partnership with UNCG over the last 12+ years. Cheers to a flawless campaign and congrats to the UNCG community at large.
